I’m super serial. We ponder the issue of defending not only our clients, but ourselves in the case of a massive zombie apocalypse almost bi-weekly.
Types of the Living Dead
Zombies are a tough creature to imagine correctly and have probably been imagined a hundred different ways. Since we all watch The Walking Dead here in the office, we have decided to use their “walkers” as our de-facto zombie specimen.
Plus, fast zombies are so scary. I’m not into that.

Weaponry
As consultants, we stress the details. The small things. We are perfectionists, of course. So, you might think that we would immediately think about stockpiling ammunition and guns.
Well, you’d be dead wrong. Literally.
Whilst guns and ammo might be the best immediate defense, it attracts more of these maligned creatures closer. That’s a bad thing. Of course, then what can we do if we are not choosing guns?
Lightweight, portable weaponry. We are talking crossbows and hatchets.
Shelter
A fenced in high-ground area. The United States has a few advantages. The north could freeze certain zombies, keeping them away. The south has a warmer, more mild climate. Either way, we are staying the hell out of the cities.
Food
If the disease has spread to living animals, canned food is fine. It won’t last, so someone needs to farm and harvest crops. In a panic everyone will be grabbing groceries, but a smarter move might be to grab some seeds and a bag of Miracle Grow.
Water
Build a still. Problem solved. Or, better yet, post up by a body of water.
Tech
We need to build a way to still have our Macbook Pro laptops when the shit hits the fan. Maybe a solar panel and a few other ways to generate power.
Orrrrrr… zombie-powered generators. Basically, this would be a hamster wheel with a zombie securely installed in them. We may be able to monetize it and sell their power. Of course, we will still be in the business of selling extremely smart and creative solutions here at DevMynd.
